London Day 7

Today is my last day in London. But before I head back to the airport I'm going to another park in London where there is more to see. I took the bus again. I decided to take a little picknick by a river in the park. The weather were cloudy and the sun didn't shine, but it was nice anyway. When I walked down the park to take a look at all the buildings and monuments. I saw some statues that I didn't find very interesting, but I saw a building called Albert Hall. I didn't stay to find out what it was for kind of building because I was in a little hurry to the airport.
I went to the airport with a cab this time instead of bus. It went faster and I could relax because now I had plenty of time. I ate on one of the airports McDonalds and checked in afterwards. I didn't have to wait very long before I could bord the plane. And now on my way home to Sweden! I enjoyed the vacation but I'm not going to miss England. It feels good to finnish this blog. London Day 5 and 6

I got food poisoned from last night so I stayed in my room the whole day. It wasn't too bad, except for the barfing. But I was better next day so I went to see the Big Ben and Buckingham Palace. I took the bus as usual. There was a market near Big Ben so I looked there first. I bought some donuts wich was the best I've tasted in my whole life! Big Ben wasn't anything special to see, it was just a big clocktower. I only saw Buckingham Palace at a distance. It looked bigger in real life. And then I walked too a nearby merry-go-round called London Eye. But one ride costs about 20-40 pounds so I went back to the hotel to eat dinner. After the dinner I went to a nearby cinema and watched Robin Hood. After the movie I went back to the hotel and ate a late dinner. Here is a picture of Big Ben, Buckingham Palace and London Eye.

London Day 4

Today I'm going to Towern. Towern is a big castle museum near Big Ben. As usual I took the bus there. The museum tickets were really expensive, about 20 pounds each! While inside, I saw those english guards you see on TV, the ones with red costumes and a long, furry hat made out of grizzly skin. They just stood there staring into nothing. I didn't try to speak to them because I thought they weren't allowed to say anything. But I entered the museum and saw some armors from late medieval and a bit deeper into the museum I saw some more armors. In another chamber there were some displaycases protecting both new and old weapons. Most of the weapons were old firearms from WW1. The older weapons consisted mostly of claymores and maces.
A few hours later I decided to move on to the next part of the museum with jewelry. They even had the royal jewels out for display today! I recognised some of the gems, the most famous is called The star of Africa and is the worlds largest polished diamond. But it was getting late so I headed back to the hotel to rest.

London Day 3

Today I'm going to spend my day shopping in the city. I've heard that Harrods is a big shopping mall in London so I think I'll head there first today. As usual, I took the bus there. Outside Harrods was an old man who served as their gatekeeper. He was dressed in a long, green coat and a black top hat. He said that he has been working at Harrods since he was a kid and that made him the oldest employee at Harrods! Unfortunately, I forgot my camera back at the hotel. Harrods was huge inside as well as the outside! I started lookiing around on the first floor where most of the food groceries where, but the prices where outrageously high! I didn't buy anything but it was fun to look around a bit. On the second floor there where mostly clothes and jewelry but I didn't buy anything there either. I headed back outside and saw a long street with a lot of shops around it. But I didn't find anything nice to buy so I took the bus back to the hotel. Back at the hotel, I ate dinner and spent most of the remaining day reading my books.

London Day 2

I woke up too late this morning, and now I don't think I'll have enough time to visit Big Ben as I had planned yesterday! But I think that I will take it easy today because my back hurts from the flight. I'm not used to sit down very long. Otherwise this morning is pretty good. The breakfast and the roomservice is great! I ate the best omelett I had in a long time. After the breakfast I decided I should take the bus down to the park that lies in the middle of London. I bought some sweetrolls on my way out and headed to the nearest bus to take me to the park. The park was oddly quiet for lying in the center of London. This was the biggest park I have seen in my life!
I found a big lake with a lot of birds swimming around in it, and there where some benches nearby so stayed for awhile to watch the lake and of course the birds! I fed a nearby pigeon with my sweetroll and suddenly all other birds where on their way to me! Here is a picture of the birds.

London Day 1

Finally! I have just arrived at my suite at the Jumeirah Carlton Tower hotel. The bustrip took about two hours from the airport. This is my first time in London and I'm really looking forward to it. I arrived at the hotel about 5 o'clock in the afternoon. The hotel room is bigger and better than I expected before I got here. The superior room is the best room I have seen in my whole life. It's quite relaxing in here but that's maybe because I'm so exhausted from the ride to the hotel. As soon as I arrived today, I decided that I should start writing on the blog I had to do, so here I am! I won this trip on a lottery tick I scratched a few days ago, lucky me! The lottery company paid for a five-star hotel for a week and the airtrip costs, the only condition was that I had to blog about my stay, but that doesn't seem soo bad.
I only packed clothes, books and hygiene articles because I didn't want to carry so much. And on my way to the hotel I saw the Marble Arch, lucky I had my camera ready, so I took a picture of a giant horse head thing that stood in the middle of the street. That's all for day one.
